Organic oregano
Having many years of experience in the production of extra virgin olive oil (BIO), we decided that it was the right time to also deal with the production of organic herbs, especially oregano.
Oregano production started in 2015 from wild oregano seeds and, despite the obstacles, we managed with our own machinery, from planting to packaging, to produce a product of excellent quality.

Production & processing
The cultivation of oregano begins with the first rains of autumn where the fields are prepared for planting no later than November 20th.
Planting is done with a special machine when the plants are 10 to 15 cm high and there is enough moisture in the soil.
Given our ecological philosophy, we apply environmentally friendly practices and weeds are treated without pesticides, but with a tiller and the rest with manual labor.
Spring is a critical period for the growth of oregano since it has high requirements for moisture and sun.
In June, when flowering reaches 70% to 80% of the plantation, it is harvested with a special machine and immediately transported for drying in the shade in specially ventilated areas and not outside in the field where there is a risk of microbiological contamination and quality degradation.
After drying, which lasts 7 to 8 days, it is placed in big bags in a warehouse.
The processing (rubbing, packaging) is done after receiving the order from the customers in order to preserve its aroma.

Our products
A) We sell the largest quantities of oregano to wholesale customers (Food trading companies, E-SHOP, Delicatessen, Organic Shops, Grill shops, Restaurants) with 7 packs.
Six of them end up in a zip mechanism so that after each use they can be closed again so that the aroma of oregano is not lost.
In detail, the packages are as follows:

4) Zip bag 500 gr
5) Zip bag 300 gr
6) Zip bag 200 gr
7) Zip bag 100 gr
B) We also sell quantities of oregano to retail customers (families, individuals) in 3 smaller packages.
In detail, we offer these packages with a) plastic bag, b) kraft bag and they are as follows:
1) Bag of 50 gr
2) Bag of 100 gr
3) Bag of 150 gr

Our Certifications
We strongly believe in exports, considering that a necessary condition is to have certifications and chemical analyzes that prove that the products are indeed organic. So every year we carry out a chemical analysis for 500 dangerous substances contained in pesticides and in the environment (the highest in Greece).
